Flu Shots

Durango Urgent Care offers flu shots on a walk-in basis during our normal office hours starting in October. For availability and prices please phone us at 970-247-8 DUC (382).

We offer flu shots to all adults and children over nine years of age and those children over three years of age who have previously received the flu vaccination. We recommend that children under three years of age be given their flu vaccination, which is administered in two doses, by their pediatrician.

Durango Urgent Care only gives the ‘purified’ vaccine by injection. This vaccine cannot cause the flu and its most common side effect is soreness at the injection site.

All patients must pay for their flu shot by cash or credit card at the time of the visit.

What is Influenza (also called Flu)?

The flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can cause mild to severe illness and, at times, can lead to death. The best way to prevent this illness is by getting a flu vaccination each fall.
